Recession

Recession..This word has gained prominence in the past one year or so.Here is a story about recession,I stumbled upon this story somewhre that gave a new dimension to the word "recession". So I am sharing this with you all.

What is Recession?

This Story is about a man who once upon a time was selling Hotdogs by the roadside.

He was illiterate, so he never read newspapers.

He was hard of hearing, so he never listened to the radio.

His eyes were weak, so he never watched television.

But enthusiastically, he sold lots of hotdogs.

He was smart enough to offer some attractive schemes to increase his sales.

His sales and profit went up.

He ordered more a more raw material and buns and use to sale more.

He recruited few more supporting staff to serve more customers.

He started offering home deliveries. Eventually he got himself a bigger and better stove.

As his business was growing, the son, who had recently graduated from College, joined his father.

Then something strange happened.

The son asked, "Dad, aren´t you aware of the great recession that is coming our way?"

The father replied, "No, but tell me about it." The son said, "The international situation is terrible.

The domestic situation is even worse. We should be prepared for the coming bad times."

The man thought that since his son had been to college, read the papers, listened to the radio and watched TV.

He ought to know and his advice should not be taken lightly.

So the next day onwards, the father cut down the his raw material order and buns, took down the colourful signboard, removed all the special schemes he was offering to the customers and was no longer as enthusiastic.

He reduced his staff strength by giving layoffs.

Very soon, fewer and fewer people bothered to stop at his hotdog stand.

And his sales started coming down rapidly, same is the profit.

The father said to his son, "Son, you were right".

"We are in the middle of a recession and crisis. I am glad you warned me ahead of time."

MORAL OF THE STORY: It´s all in your MIND! And we actually FUEL this recession much more than it is.

IPL Auction

Posted by Sudharsan in

IPL auctions are going to take place today. With 67 players available for auction, it is sure that only around 10 to 12 players will be bought, as most of the teams have their squad filled up.
Among these 67, 66 are overseas, with Mohammed Kaif being the sole Indian.

Here is the list of players, who I feel will be the "Most Wanted"

  •  Shane Bond
  • Kieran Pollard
  • Shahid Afridi
  • Abdul Razzaq
  • Mohammed Aameer
  • Umar Akmal
  • Umar Gul
  • Sohail Tanvir
  • Kamran Akmal
  • Shakib-Al-Hassan
  • Brad Haddin.
I feel Kieran Pollard or Shahid Afridi would be bought for the maximum price as both of them are all-rounders who are capable of changing the game single handedly.
So lets wait and see who gets the maximum bid this year ??

Aayirathil Oruvan Review

Posted by Sudharsan in ,

The most awaited movie for the past two years got released at last. Like everybody i was also eager to watch it and at last i watched it on 15th. Now here is a review of this movie

Story:
A  group of people headed by Reema Sen go in search of the lost chola empire. They are accopanied by a group of labourers whose leader is Karthi. Andrea plays the role of a archaeologist who accompanies them.
Now the travel and adventure of this crew makes up the first half. The second half is about the lost empire headed by parthiban(the present day king of cholas) and their encounter with the crew. I dont want to spoil you by telling the story.

Positives:

  • Story. ( Hats off to Selvaraghavan for bringing up such a story. Its a brave attempt in tamil cinema )
  • Reema Sen ( Both for her acting skills and glamour)
  • Parthiban ( As usual he rocks with his performance.)
  • Karthi ( Keeps the movie going with witty dialogues and humour. Proves his worth yet again after paruthi veeran)
  • Music (Both the songs and bgm are superb)
  • Cinematography
  • Art
Negatives:

  • Graphics ( Its definitely of low standards)
  • Screenplay ( Its crappy at some parts, certain parts defies logic)
  • Gore scenes towards the end (needless, should have been avoided)
  • Length of the movie( It runs for 3hours + some min. Many sitting besides me in theatre felt the movie was dragging)

In total first half is like a masala movie with Reema and Andrea oozing with glamour, Karthi with humour, songs(Oh eesa, un mela aasadhan), action, and adventure. Watch out for adho andha paravai(from MGR's Ayirathil Oruvan) song remix.

Second half is completely a different movie with lots of twist and turns, and unpredictable climax( Many loved it and many hated it too).

The songs Maalai Neram, Indha Paadhai , Penmaane are not in the movie. I don't know why Selva always misses out the best songs in the movie( In 7G he left out Ninaithu Ninaithu Parthal, in Pudhupettai it was Oru Naalil and now Maalai Neram).

This movie is strictly for adults. Thanks to karthi's dialogues, Reema and Andrea's glamour and a cat fight between them(it covers almost all the filthy words in English),violence, brutality towards the end.

Lots of research has been put by selvaraghavan and its a valiant effort. He has taken tamil cinema to a higher level. Many may tell that the movie is similar to apocalypto, troy or some other English movie. But it doesn't matter, no one has taken this kind of effort till now in tamil films and he has to appreciated for this. Three years of hard work is clearly shown in the movie. Its some thing like a Kamal's movie. A bit complex to understand, but if you succeed in that, then the movie will be great, else you may feel it is just another crap. In my opinion this movie is worth a watch, so go and watch it.
