It is August. In a small town on the South Coast of France, the holiday season is in full swing, but it is raining so there is not too much business happening. Everyone is heavily in debt.
Luckily, a rich Russian tourist arrives in the foyer of the small local hotel. He asks for a room and puts a Euro100 note on the reception counter, takes a key and goes to inspect the room located up the stairs on the third floor.
The hotel owner takes the banknote in hurry and rushes to his meat supplier to whom he owes E100. The butcher takes the money and races to his supplier to pay his debt.
The wholesaler rushes to the farmer to pay E100 for pigs he purchased some time ago.
The farmer triumphantly gives the E100 note to a local hair dresser who provided him his services on credit. The hair dresser goes quickly to the hotel, as he owed the hotel for his room use a month back. At that moment, the rich Russian is coming down to reception and informs the hotel owner that the proposed room is unsatisfactory and takes his E100 back and departs. There was no profit or income. There was NO real economic activity. But everyone no longer has any debt and the small town people look optimistically towards their future.
After a boring and bad day ,I sat down to watch the match between India and Australia.
I didn't watch the Aussie batting. When I switched on the tv i came to know that the oz had scored 350.
So i started watching the match hoping that it would be a good one and it proved to be a great one.
Sachin played a classic knock of 175 and took India toward victory till 46th over. But after his departure the rest crumbled and India lost the match.
The main reason for the defeat where stupid running by jadeja, poor batting by the middle order except Raina, excellent fielding by the aussies and an all round performance by Watson.
Jadeja proved once again that,he is a person who succumbs to pressure. He did so in T20 worldcup consuming lot of balls against England,he did again in the previous match where he got run out and he repeated it today. If he had stayed things could have been different. Its time that he works on it.
Sachin took India so close to victory, but the rest were not even able to support him, leave apart Raina and Jadeja. The defeat sounds similar to the 1999 test defeat against Pakistan in Chennai, where Sachin took India so close to victory but the rest succumbed.
Now the series is lead by the Oz 3-2 with two matches to go. Lets hope that India wins the rest of the matches to win the series.
Few days back when i was reading the newspaper i found this piece of news which was "Madras University is going to introduce a postgraduate course in Kalaignar's thoughts"(Karunanidhi's Thoughts). I coudnt believe it and I was laughing after reading it.
But after thinking for some time, I came to know the value of this course. This course can teach you a lot of valuable thinks such as
1) How to develop your family
2) How to make all your all family members rich(including your most distant relative)
3) How to act(no separate acting course is needed)
4)How to save your sons from murder cases
5)How to script a drama(esp.. a family drama)
No other course in this world can teach these kind of useful stuffs.
I also feel that the Madras University should introduce courses on the thoughts of Azhagiri, Stalin and Kanimozhi so that people can gain more knowledge. My sincere appreciation goes to the sycophant who had the idea of introducing such a course (ஒக்காந்து யோசிப்பாங்களோ !!!)
So everyone hurry up and join this course !!!
Happy Deepavali
The finals of the champions trophy was pretty disappointing. It lacked thrill and it was a low scoring affair. Moreover the Aussies won yet another time. Although I don't hate the Aussies, I wanted the Kiwis to win the match as they haven't won even a single ICC event in spite of being in the semifinals of many. But to be fair the Aussies played better on that day. I expected Bond to strip the Aussie batting line up but he couldn't do much except the early strike and the Aussies reached the target, thanks to Watson for his excellent 105*. Presence of Vettori and Ryder could have made the match interesting but injury prevented them from playing.

Another important thing to be noted in this match is the crowd. The crowd was average for the final of this big ICC event. I don't know whether this was due to the early exit of the home team South Africa, or due to the time consuming nature of the ODI format. If somebody asks me the reason for that, i would pick the latter one. I am an ardent follower of cricket and I used to watch ODI right from the first ball to the finish. But after watching T20(thanks mainly to the IPL) I feel ODIs are dragging. In the entire tournament, I just watched two matches throughout. One the epic battle between India and Pakistan and the other one obviously the match between Australia and Pakistan, as that match's result was more important for India's qualification.Apart from these two matches I dint feel like watching others and I just chipped in for the scores.
